over the weekend my brother and i started to make a new tray for the maruti the old one must have weighed almost the same as the ute we really struggled to cary it off. my brother suggested we use a material called yard rail i was a bit hesitant at first but i think it worked out well! its a simple and cost effective (sort of)design.so far we finished the frame and the tray itself will be made of 2mm ally propellor plate with water cut designed led tail lights and a tool box fitted under the tray any ways what do you guys think??? cheers wayne |

more pics its a lot lighter than the old one and i can really feel the power coming out of the 1ltr (not much but its there) the tray will get painted in a hammer tone charcoal it will also have chain links welded on the inside of underneath for tie points and hold my water tank as well |

a ruff estimate on weight is about 60 kgs i know that without the battery in and the empty water tank still bolted in it can be picked up by one person standing in the centre |

Hey, there's a 7series Toyota forklift like our one at work The tray looks really good!! How do you access the spare tyre? Is there a flap on the top? |

cheers for the complements guys the spare wont stay there its just there for now but will get mounted behind the driver on an adjustable bracket (incase of tyre size changes) but i will be making a tool box that sits under the tray that will use the flap door idea just working on a way to keep it water proof! ill post more pics when more progress is done hopefully not to far away cheers wayne |
