first i got a metal frame made with draws on runners in side to make it easier and stronger
he draws have marine carpet in them which can be easly removed if needed for cleaning etc thay are held in with edging around the top
than i made a base and made mounting points useing the old seat bolt holes
than put the draws in and sentered every thing

Agrred. That is very good. Would like to make something like that myself, but then there'd be nowhere for my daughter to sit.

She's 20 months old and prefers to be seen in my $2500 Suzuki, not her mum's $50k crossover

hey mate looking into making a set of these myself so if you dont mind i have a couple of questions.
What did you use to keep the carpet attached?
How is the draw assembly shell together, ie. spot welds or rivets?

hay mate the metal frame is held together with pop-rivets and its just flat gal steal folded to shape, i used contact adhesive glue, you can get it from hard wear shops ect but it is a bit pricey so it works out to be cheaper if you buy the bigger tin. just ask if your got any more questions mate im happy to try and help.
cheers scott

The sliding brackets make a big difference, where did you get the ones you used? They can be pretty pricey but I think it's one of those items it would be wort spending some coin getting decent slides.

did you say you had the original draws custom made for that or did you buy them somewhere retail? where they expensive? is it hard to reach into the fridge at that hieght or is it purely for storage and it comes out of the car when in use? cheers jamie

hay jamie, um i got just the metal frame made buy the obove link^^^ he makes them all the time for the draw systems he sells, but normaly there 200mm high and i got mine made 280mm high (i think ) so thay were classed as a custom job, you can also get one big draw instead of two like mine and it is cheaper, hell make anyone one any size you want, i also got my carpet of him at a good prise, he did a good deal for me cos my dad has brought 2 draw systems of him in the past, i made mine for half the prise it would have cost me to get them made, give him a ring if you want a quote.
the draws stay in the car all the time but dont take me long to take them out if i want (about 20mins) and the fridge is taken out unless im going on a long trip were it is needed and i can see in it just fine but my short mum cant haha all depends on how tall you are mate lol
cheers scott
