i figured this may help prevent some of the water and mud that is prone to getting into the compressor.. has any one else made anything like this?? it is only the prototype..

Take it off or you will kill the compressor, one it blocks air flow to the inlet of the compressor and two have you felt the temperature these things get to, bloody hot, they need air flow around the compressor to cool it. That's why it's got cooling fins.

'just_cruizin' he doesnt have airlockers ( for now :) ) so it's not constantly in use. He made it to stop it being covered in mud and flooded with water. When he needs it for tyres the cover can just come off with a quick pull of the 2 straps. I like it.

yeah it only goes on the compressor when not in use therefore it doesnt block any airflow at all?? as 'hooki' said it is just two velcro straps holding it on.. was just an idea and so far as you can see the compressor is still rather tidy?? i have had it for about 3 months.. never cleaned but regularly used.. i didnt think this would be detrimental to it??

As you say, just take the cover off when you're using it. Too easy.

cheers scrawnc! i cut it all up and figured out approx the sizing and then one of my mates has a heavy duty sowing machine so he sowed it for me!! but as i say there are defs some improvements in need.. and for the noise factor, this is the first one i have owned but i know alot of people who have mounted them in cab behind seats etc and have not complained but overall a wicked compressor, highly recommend!
