| Post subject: | Roof pod trailer |
Hi guys I'm considering modifying my cage trailer to make it better for camping and lugging stuff that can not get wet. You see I have a wife and 4 kids. Our 'other car' is a Hyundai Terracan. It's roughly Prado sized with 3 rows of seats. But once full of people there is bugger all room for stuff. We have always camped with the cage trailer and frankly, it's great. We can fit bikes and all. But the problem is when it rains... the tents, camp chairs, etc all get wet. I dont want to just enclose the cage. To do so would make it much more drag, and harder to load because of the top. (I can currently stand in it when loading) SO THE PLAN I want to remove the cage and put a rack (much like roof racks on a car) and put one of these roof pods on the rack http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rhino-Rack-R ... 4ab4e16a4e This way I can put it on when I want it, fill it with the stuff that cannot get wet with the rest (incl bikes) under and along the sides. I was wondering if anyone has done something similar, have you tried these roof pods out, and if someone has any advice or ideas. By the way I cannot put one of these on the roof of the car. It's complicated. |
