So I was in the garage looking at the LED worklight I bought off KPD Industries thinking what the hell am I going to do with this thing and had an idea Bolt the light to a cheap camera tripod I had floating around, put some longer cable on it and plug it into a little sealed battery Instant take anywhere light that should run for a few hours on a little battery, next ill sling some wire into the vit somewhere to plug the battery in and recharge it and get a lamp switch from bunnings (goes inline with the cable) to turn it on and off easy |

That's hardly a fair comparison for the mini....it wouldn't break a front diff in 10 minutes of wheeling. Nice looking mini from what you can see, light is a good idea also

That is a great idea Royce... its giving me a few idea's for other stuff... I was just lookin at your tripod, and was thinkin, what about a little hang on basket for the battery, and hang it off the horizontal leg supports, or perhaps make a little clip on tray for the battery to sit on... to keep the battery of the ground... and if you wanted to be really fancy, you could attach a small solar cell to keep the battery charged... this would be a great idea to build, as a self contained unit, and sell them as a portable, take anywhere, flood light... hmmm, idea's... |

Geez and I thought putting a switch on it was being a bit complex
I did think about a solar panel for it and in the process of looking for one I ended up with a 100w one instead |

Nice work Royce, Smart minds think alike!
i used this at the comps, came in really handy for pulling the front diff out in the middle of the night. to a certain degree it can also wrap itself around bar work and the likes as well. The light draws 1.5amps according to the manufacturer so theoretically a 75A/H battery will get you 50 hours of continuos use. I've also got one as a reverse light. It's freaking awesome as a reverse light. |
