well this weekend i had a bit of time to play with the zook, so a quick trip to bunnings and i was on my way.

limited budged i had to go MDF wich im not soo happy about but it was cheep and hopfully i will be able to seal it enough so if it does get wet it wont be ruined.

didnt have my camera on me for most of the start, but got it after i came in for a bite to eat.

Image

so thats what it started out with. thinking about best way to organize stuff

then came the top

Image

and shortly after that, came the access hatch
Image

and again one for the other side

Image

and thats basically where im at, Going to finish it with a thick sound deadener paint and then rubber mat ontop of that again...

think this will work well. have plenty of room for all my recovery gear, my spare batter, room for my engle and swag, and im pretty sure i can still sqeeze in a few chairs and other goodies.

will keep updating as i get further into it

looks great!!

You should install a 12v fan into the battery box section. Batteries give off heat when they are in use/ charging and they need some airflow.

Marine carpet would look 8) also, and it will act like a deadener also.

checker plate would look pretty cool, especially if it was rolled around the edge of the cars body...

currently im done for the week, got the resin top back on to protect it. and its great i have almost doubled storage capacaty as everything that i used to store in crates is now in the compartments so im quite happy.

had a look at some carpet at bunnings and looks like they will be charging 50 to60 dollars for 2 sqmtrs wich i think is alright, but im sure i could get it cheaper...

any suggestions?

Find some astroturf and cut a square out of it, like a putt putt course or similar

BCF sell marine carpet, it may be cheaper there... and something besides carpet, Clark Rubber sell sheets of reinforced rubber and other stuff on rolls, they have some good stuff, might pay to have a look in there too ! :D

will get some better photos oneday.

so what i have left to do is.

get aluminum angle around the edges, and around the access hatches.

get some anchor points for tying down cargo and the fridge. and thats about it...
