well i started this project quite awhile ago last year december i think. i built a cubby purely for me n the little fella, we were contempl;ating on buying a cubby kit but for 3500 i dont think so. plus being a carpenter it was just stupid. Heres some progress pics anyway, the pic with the frame is it wat it looked like at the start obviously and now it has grown into pretty much a mini house.

Features include front deck, inside loft/bunk, bunk ladder, windows, barn doors, and big windows on the side used as mini french doors.

To date its prolly cost me close to a grand, if not less. All the hardwood u can see is old house hardwood framing that i spent hours machining up with the planer, it is really worth it cause it adds character. The weatherboards and roofing were second hand. The only stuff new is the floor, frame, decking and the door material.

There has been countless weekends involved in this and just recently my mate hooked up some lights and some power caravan style.

In my opinion it shits all over the kit cubbys. It is 2 times bigger than a kit cubby and 3 times cheaper.

yeah he didnt wana come up tonight, we just completed the loft all weekend, and he did not wana come up at all lol. Council approvals yeh hmmmmmm lol im not too sure with the rules an regs, but i always thought if it was an addition to your house/modifiny roof lines etc etc. However if a council prick picks me up on this he would have to be one of the lowest bastards out there lol.

yeh lol hes such a little bloke its not funny, all saturday morning reece lets be builders hahaa. Everyone keeps asking me why i built it so big reason is why go to that much effort and not being able to play in it yourself. I can comfortably stand up with miles of head room, and can quite easily get up onto the bunk lol
