nah its so u dont get flex in it and it also helps to stop the water layig on the back

If you reduce the flex, you reduce the fatigue. A better fatigue life equals longer service and better value for money. It has little to do with asthetics.

How big is this thing going to be?
Why not just copy an existing hard top? they seem to work well.
I guess it's not a hard top as in roof hard top.

I think it's fantastic !
I've been looking at the yank ones at

$695 plus freight charge, so probably $1000 with the aussie dollar the way it is at the moment
I'd like to make one out of Ali on the press at work but the welding on the corners would shit me to tears

Freight on that is $400 by 40day sea, or $800 airfeight. Thats US$$.

yeah i have the mold made up just trying to find into on what type on resin to use on it cuse i want it to flex and no just crack so been calling round alot and not many people know so if ya know any1 that might know any info would be very much appresiated

maybe try some fibreglassing forums? im sure theres many people out there with kit cars that made their own panels etc?

cheers guy i hav a guy here in adelaide that wants me to head down and he wants to have a look and he owns a fiberglass shop so yeah. when i get a chance to get down there i take it down to him.
he seems keen on building them, but like i said i have had no time to do shit.
thi boats taking up all spare time and that with rugby and work im flat out.
i have the mold ready to go

you should also get a mould of a Maruti roof im sure shitloads of people including my self would want one and it would tie in VERY nice with the cover

then to paint it again for them etc

Is the maruti roof just the hardtop bit that clips onto soft tops? My new N/T lwb style side has a removable roof.

Leafys and coilys have essentially the same tub. The only difference is in the coily not having a fold down windscreen. From there back the bodys are for all intensive purposes; identicle.
