They're only been installed for a couple of weeks.... how long do you leave yours running for them to get warm?
I'll do a test tonight but I can't see them generating much heat.
After sticking that little strip in the washer bottle I think I might have to somehow work out how to add some to a water bong.... for that smoke on the water effect.

well i run mine when im driving on the road and off road, and some times they can be on for 3 hours or so, depends on how long you go wheelin and if you get stuck, also depends on how close to the exhaust
just when you do run them for a long time, stop and check ever hour or so so see if there is like a brown burning stating to form on the strip generally around the resistor not the led light itself

Must be different in WA, in NSW i think its illegal to drive with any extra lights that arnt stockies? So no LEDs, even the little ones the lebos have on their winderscreen washers

Yep on a moving car on a road no under body lights are legal, especially blue ones!

yeah in wa you can drive with them on, but there is very strick rules about them
if you get pulled over for anything else, ie speeding, driving up stairs in a park, driving up footpaths they will also tell you off for having lights

Hey Gus, hows it going?
Was wondering if you were able to help me at all? I'm looking at making these and i'm not sure which LED's to use.
There are the 5050 60led/m lights or the 3528 led.
Which ones would be more suited for the application?
Thanks very much

If I was to do it again I'd go with the 5050 60 LED IP65 larger stuff, it will be just that little bit brighter & the solder tabs are that little bit bigger so it will be easier to work with.

This is a great tech thread. I received my roll last week and can't wait to go crazy with it.
