Chinny wrote: I forgot to modify the gti distributor to 4 teeth for the microtech. Does anyone know how this needs to be done? i'll be taking it off soon anyhow. It sounds like the Microtech expects 1 pulse per ignition event. The GTi has a unique tooth profile, but it wont be hard to cut the extra teeth off. Stock one would have to be close wouldnt it?
Good to see it back home

Don't know i didn't have the GTi one. Got one from an old camry at the wreckers today along with an air hose that comes from another toyota. almost a perfect fit.

Ground off the other 8 teeth. put all back together along with some of those better engine mounts from american v8 pickup.
Its all good now, starts and runs really rich. Does anyone have a laptop cable dongle adapter for a microtech that i can borrow??

Does it matter where the teeth are positioned in the dizzy? I've done it so all 4 are at 90" to each other.

You're still using a single coil and the distributor arent you? If that's the case that should be correct. You will just need to make sure you have the rotor button in the correct position and your firing order is correct.

I think it's proper stuff, even though it looks like garden hose. Chemical resistant etc. They're only breather lines anyway.

hahahahah i'm going to run it in for a couple of weeks before i start strapping it. Also its not running too good cos the Tps is rooted and i need to get an air temp sensor retrofitted so i can get it tuned running good. Or so i've been told. Other than that it runs great lots more power and u can really move when you put your foot down =D
