Hi all, I was totally fed up with leaves getting through the bars of the vent and getting sucked into the dash fan, so today I knocked up a screen for over the vent. the frame is just something simple out of 25 x 3 mild flat with alum mesh underneath, primed and painted, and held on with counter sunk stainless sheet metal screws. I would have liked a stainless frame, but didn't have any on hand. Just thought I would share this. Have a good one. Regards John T.

For my new car, I put brass flyscreen mesh under the heater box before I reinstalled it.

Hi Steve, I couldn't be bothered pulling the dash apart to get into the guts of the matter. This way the leaves just blow off the top. Cheers, John T.

Hey Bazook, sounds like you think like me. I am a lazy bugger basically. I look for the simplest, easiest way that will work. The way that Gwagensteve has gone would work too, but you have to get down under the dash to clean it out. I am too old and cranky to do that now.

i cut a hole in the heater box under the dash and vacuumed the leaves out
then siliconed a patch over the hole and covered the vent with sheet metal

click 'post reply'

type something in the box

then scroll down ans there should be a 'Browse" button, Click that and browse for the photo you want and click 'OK'.

If you want to add more click 'add attachment'

then click 'submit'

Note your photos need to be 256kb or less so you'll need to reduce them in paint or the like.

I'll pm you my email if that doesn't work
