Animated Images and Avatars…
After Steknig put up a pic of a Mini's Speedo, I got inspired and animated it.
Hope you don't mind Stekky

I used Adobe Photoshop to edit the original image and create several layers of the different elements (pointer/needle at different posi's, hub and gauge base). I then used Adobe Image Ready to set each frame by activating and deactivating the layered pointer/needles. Then you save it as an animated GIF. I do shit loads of this kind of stuff for website banner adverts etc.
Being a Graphic Designer/Illustrator, Photoshop is one of the many programmes I use. I taught myself how to use Adobe Image Ready, as a client wanted me to do some animated banners for his business. Christover, who's on here as well as outerlimits, is another person who likes playing with digital animation.
Here's an animation I did for an old business of mine…

As far as time it takes to do it… Maybe about an hour or so.
I work from home, and since giving up the smokes, I get bored quickly and can also lose focus easily.
I should get back to work now

Good work. Are they saved as animated GIFs? I did one of the Jim a while back, put on the mobile too but when the screen went to sleep the animation stopped playing and would not start again. Don't know why... oh well!

Yes, all saved as animated gif's. I don't have that problem.
Scrawn, it's good to hear that it's getting used.

I've got it as background tho, couldn't work out how to use it as screensaver. It doesn't spin on background but still looks good

I'm just doing a tacho one now (I think phil wanted one - bouncing of the limiter ) . When I get a chance I'll see if I can do up some instructions on how to put them on the Nokia 95.

Same as the one I did. Won't play as a wallpaper on Nokia N95. Damn it!!

This is for those of you who'd like to load the animated GIF's on to a N95 Nokia.
OK, I believe you have loaded it as a wallpaper.
You need to load it in the Power Saver under the Themes.
Hopefully I've typed everything easy enough for you to follow.
Go to Tools…
then to Themes…
scroll down to Power saver…
Check Animation…
Click Option (bottom left)…
Go Change…
Select your animated GIF
Animation Time Out is 60 secs
Lightout is 30 secs
Click Back
Click Option again…
Click Preview…
If the chosen animation plays… Cool Bananas

Please note the Animation time out and the Lightout can be changed to suit your own requirements or taste.

You should be able to rotate it back. I saw something in the settings somewhere. When I next have a chance I'll suss it out.
