what method have people used to to virtual lift the guards on there Zooks? was thinking along the lines of cut new lines in outer guard and cut a line around the inner guard around 70mm and fill in with new plate?? is this the "right" method? I plan on running 31s with no lift. so around 75mm total lift with front diff 50mmish forward and rear back 50mm ish.

Is that body design or because of the square lights?

The cutout hole behind the headlight is meant to be different?

smaller reflector will let you take more out of the headlight bucket area, there have been some good pics posted of someones modded front guards/buckets where the section was cut, flipped & welded back in or something similar.

I did the first method that jas put up and I hate it looks so cheap n nasty on the rear
But on the front I cut it all off n replaced the missing bits. Looks so much cleaner n can't really tell it has been done

so re welded another bit in? that i thought would be the better option i cut it but only folded the lip i measured that i achieved about an inch more but i only need room for 31s and i probly dont even need that, next time i will defently weld i a new peice i think like gvzookdriver said

I'm thinking of riviting a flair material under the guard where the bits are re-attached (see bunnings edgeing or similar).. I will be pinching front clip in to follow lines of the bonnet as well as this is a 100% offroad truck

This is where I'm at with my rear virtual lift. It's a 33' tyre with no lift. This is the strip I've cut from the inside of the guard. Just cut out enough so the outer lip of the body lines up with the highest points of the inner gurad, that way the strip you weld in will be flush. I can take some pic's of what I've done on the front if you like? just a warning..welding these thin suzuki panels upside down is shit, I wouldn't have attempted it if I wasn't going to remove the body, flip it and weld the right way up.

grabbed from my build thread Cut started for front virtual lift Another view showing the clearance gained cut the inner guards from the outer last weekend. Ground off all the unnecessary brackets and crap and cleaned and painted them up. Outer lip of inner guard. 30mm of outer guard that was left over from the virtual lift has been ground off at the spot welds. This should retain all the integrity of the inner guard. Out guard fully cut ,painted up and ready to be married up to inner. Close up of front cut showing the line we took. Firewall Massage to match guard cut line. Weld line we took up inside of guard

from damo's build thread, there are more pics of it finished here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1902&p=389314&hilit=headlight+bucket+cut#p389314Damo wrote: I've got about 50mm cut out of the inner guard, plus a bit up near the headlight bucket. You can see a little rust at the back of the wheel arch, i'll be cutting that out too. The 50mm strips are from a section of zinc coated sheet, which looks like it's about 0.8mm. I got it for free from a sheetmetal place. To get the curve I used the head of a hammer on the foam cushoin of my workshop chair. It worked really well! The rear piece is tacked in, here is a smaller piece at the front ready to be tacked it. It's held on the inner guard with a couple of welding magnets. If I can get the wire feed on the welder to cooperate I might be able to get these things welded in!
