i have had a few people ask me so this is what i did to my carby to get it to work properly.
disclamer i am not a carby tech, hell i dont even understand how they work and a cold winters day is about 25degC however this worked for me.

the idle up solenoid didn't work and the linkages where sometimes jamming
and stopping a normal idle. so i took it off.

the cold fast idle thingo never worked properly and the choke kept sticking on.
so i took that stuff off as well.
Image

then i figured no choke so i dont need the shaft and butterfly thing. so i tossed it as well.

i had a crapy carby that used a lot off fuel and after pulling all the stuff off
now has a better top speed and uses a lot less fuel.

I removed all my idle up bits years ago.
Most were unable to be connected in a 1.o litre/1.3 blend anyway.
But then I used the original 1.0 litre manual choke cable to operate the idle up, thus a very useful hand throttle
