Hi I just recently brought a 94 vitara with g16a motor (carby) im thinking of supercharging for some more power or ive heard the swift gti heads can bolt onto them anyone done any of these options and if you've done the supercharger what mods need to be done to the motor to handle up to 8pound boost

i have collected plenty of photos over the years so that I can supercharge my own G16B EFI. What put me off doing it has been the manufacturing of a mount, and figuring out how to best fit the belt tensioner, whilst retaining the Air conditioner compressor and power steering pump.
I'll dig these up for you soon.

I would have thought that was the easy bit compared to the engine management.
Steve.

Steve. Hi Steve, I was going to outsource the work on the engine management side of things, hence it would have been easy for me. The brackets i was going to make up, hence it was difficult. Fitting a Haltec Sprint 500 ECU, rising rate fuel regulator, a 2 bar MAP sensor would have cost nearly $1300 without tuning. Tuning thou was going to cost only about $150 , which is an area that you save with in comparison to fitting a turbo. Turbos must be harder to get right. Here are some pictures anyway of a carbi model......(you may need to re-jett your carburetor)

I really dont like the idea of have any sort of forced induction with a carburetta.
With forced induction i think its best to inject the exploding material, as late as possible into the system. ie. a fuel injector injecting 2inches from the intake valve! so it has no chance to explode in my face!

sideways wrote: An AMR500 is to small for a 1.6l engine. You'd have to spin it at 4 times the engine RPM just to get a few PSI out of it. At a blower speed of 2xCrank, engine capacity of 1.6L and VE of ~70% I calculated around 7-8psi of boost. AMR500 max RPM is something like ~16000RPM so that will limit your revs to 8k which should be more then enough.

lol, didn't read that bit. why even bother with a carby FFS, but still shows that the AMR500 is up to the task.

yeah the one brenno built & superduki took on his mainland adventure... so the AMR500 would be even less stressed than the AMR300?

AMR300 = 300cc of air per revolution, AMR500 = 500cc
So yes, AMR500 less stressed.
