Update :P
Ever since I bought this trailer the left side light has been a bit hit and miss, when I put it in the shed a few months ago I had a look at the wiring on that side and found a heap of scotch locks and tape jammed into the wiring channel :x best to just cut it all out and start again :D
I don't have the best confidence when it come to wiring and had been putting it off for ages but I took my time and had it done in just over a hour using these heat shrink things with solder in the middle, just heat with a little blowtorch solder melts heat shrink shrinks and bobs ya fuckin uncle! jobs done! Armsup

Lights works :P
Image
Took it out for some trailer flexing
Image
Max & Dex love car rides :P

It definitely feels lighter without the lift up lid so that's a win :woohoo:
Storage box and battery set up next.

I've put on a few kgs since I bought the rtt ten years ago  and the 75mm foam mattress wasn't the most comfortable on the last trip so went and seen a local foam supplier and got them to make a new 100mm one with a 70's cover
Image
Heaps more comfortable 8)

Time for an update sort of.
At the start of the month we did a 2700km road trip towing the old junker trailer, 4 adults loaded with heaps of shit for 10 days.
Image
The GV handled it effortlessly and it highlighted how heavy the camper trailer really is
We thought about it for a bit and what we wanted to do and this is what happened
Image
Junker trailer had some rust showing up in the floor that i couldn't be bothered with so i sold it last night, now this is junker trailer MK2.
MK2 has probably spent half its life outside and hasn't a spot of rust anywhere so for the odd jobs it will be used for I can put up with the weight of it.
Some time this week I'll pick up some other rims/tyres for junker MK2 and the alloys/BFG's will go on the new camper.......

New trailer has been ordered :P they say 4 to 6 week wait but with Xmas im not expecting it till mid January :(

While waiting on the new trailer thought I'd kill some time and give the old hubs a freshin up.
For nearly 10 year old hubs they didn't look too bad
Image
Pressed studs out and hit them with the wire wheel
Image
Etch primer
Image
Final coat

Hopefully pick up trailer on the 31st

Image
Before I sold the junker MK1 I cut off the treg hitch
Image
Cleaned up same as the hubs and gave it a squirt of gal
Image
Putting in the extra effort to mask off the polly block was worth it but fuck me took ages to get all the tape out of the little gaps :x

First trip away with the pod was a success 8)
Few small things need changes and definitely getting a box on the front for the battery pack but otherwise it's perfect for us.
We also learned that we really hate camping around people  Saturday night the place was packed with morons doing their best to have the place closed :( by Sunday lunch time there was maybe 3 of us left camping and a hand full of day users Sunday night was pure bliss just the sound of ducks in the water and the occasional smelly frog in the tent  from now on our camp trips at popular sites will be on week days and go bush bush on weekends.

Also this was the fuel consumption we had which I didn't think was to bad considering the wife packed alot of shit we didn't need

Looks like a nice spot, shame about the neighbors though...
I think you could have got a spot a bit closer to the waters edge too.... ;D

One thing I have always wondered with those pod trailers, is there tie down points inside or can you do any modifications with adding storage compartments in them?

Prime location :D hot throughout the day for swimming cools right down at night for a comfortable sleep 8)

Yeah you can option tie down rails from stockman at a ridiculous price that bolt down on the tub mounts can get the same thing from bunnings at a quarter of the price, heaps of good different ideas on the fb pod page of how people have set up their tubs im still thinking what will work best for us and stay light weight.

Little update
When I fitted the bigger wheels and tyres I knew they were close to the inside of the arches but was hoping I could get away with it.
Not so lucky :| they just rub on compression
Image
Thought about it for a bit and as luck would have it SQ rims sit 12mm further out then the SV rims so easy fix :D
Picked up two nasty XL7 rims for $50
Image
Bit of powdercoat and they look like black XL7 rims
Image
Issue fixed and they still sit inside the arches.
Image
Tbh I like the other rims better, planning on changing suspension and adding brakes with parallel bearings later so hopefully I can use the old rims then but for now this was an easy fix 8)
Now to sort the centre caps.
