A small number were imported around 1989 by Ateco for the NSW market. All parts are shared with an early WT SWB other than rear driveshaft and rear bumper corners and sill covers (other than the tub and chassis, obviously)

Apparently quite a few (50+) were used for rail operations and were converted to Hirail spec with bracketry for the rail wheels.

Probably the only variants which are rarer are SWB utes and WT highroof cars.

Window frame is NT wiper spacing. WT, Drivers wiper mount is a little more to drivers side
Wide Plastic flares. Later WT are steel. NT are thinner width plastic
Diff-Drum Handbrakes like later WT. NT were drum on transfer

They are a bit of a crossover model for the Japanese Suzuki's. They also did the same with the SWB, Quirky but no real unique parts, All can be found off other 1.3 models except for the 98 Coil Swb...

My Lwb was originally an 88' WT. Hightop Softop..

Maruti(India) are a different animal but with 89' in your profile, I think its Japanese

Should be.

87' SJ50/51 is NT
88' SJ50/51 is WT with a few NT parts
89' ?
90' ?
91' SJ70 is WT

I'm pretty sure by 1989 the SJ70 - 10mm flange bolts/steel flare.
I believe there are 1988 build SJ70's too, but can't confirm this.

I've always heard the WT SJ50 referred to as an 88.5 model, but that's misleading - I think it's better described as an 87.5 (early 1988 production)

Yes mine is early 88'(will check build/compliance)

.5 must be referring to the nt/wt parts. Ive only seen the label 88.5 on here and Outerlimits4x4

Hey justinboo can you post some pics of your back seat mounts, I've bought two, and neither of them fit. Are they mounted on some sort of slide ?. The back of mine are not held down, The bracket is too far back.

Seats aren’t in atm rebuilding
Are u wanting the seats ? Or just the latch/ Locking mech?

I’ll take a few picks of both

They latch down or can swivel up and fold out of the way

It bolts down via the two hinge brackets: then swings down and locks in at the rear via lets call it a buckle, into the latch that’s bolted half way up the rear tray.

So most of the body is good except for the rear tubs, foot wells and under the seats which I’m in the process of repairing. The motor was a goer but I have lost spark...? Going to replace all bushes, seals an bearings in the near future whilst replacing a broken front axil
